Depending on the type of brace you need will determine how we create your brace. If you are in need of a firm wrist brace, we may take a plaster cast mold of your hand then pour our breathable plastic into the mold, creating a model of your hand. This model will then be shaped and tweaked into a customized brace! If you need a softer back brace, we may only need to take measurements and assess where on your back you need support. We then fit our elastic brace material to your back, adding extra reinforcement to the areas where you need it.
Depending on your doctor’s recommendations, the material we use to create your brace may vary. For a smaller injury, you may only need an elastic cotton blended brace that can be removed easily. This type of brace is typically used to make a shoulder brace or knee brace where the appendage still needs to move while being supported. We also have a hard molded plastic option for injuries that need to be stabilized. No matter what type of material you need, we ensure that your brace will be comfortable and breathable.
While we are talking about comfort, we also want to point out that since our braces are all made to fit you personally, they are comfortable from the start. Once your brace is made, you will come into our store to try the brace on and make sure there are no issues. At this time, we can add extra foam for support and for comfort as well. We will make sure your ankle brace has enough support and cushion, that your back brace is firm yet soft and that your knee brace is flexible and breathable. Every single brace we make is guaranteed to be the best brace you have ever worn!
