Thorogoods of Burra

Feedback 3: Gorgeous Australian Cider

*** From Chris Stevens. Thank you- seriously good cider by the way. I'm from Somerset in the UK so I know a thing or two about cider and your products are great. Have tried every one of them and they are all good. I reckon the Apple Beer would sell like hot-cakes in the UK!

*** From: Jon Wardle. Hi, I've had some of your cider. Very nice! I was wondering though. Do you do any... erm... less alcoholic ciders. I am dreadfully missing the pints I was having in the West country. I'd like to be able to do that again, and you guys certainly have the taste right, but I do get a little tipsy a little too quickly from your product. I was wondering if you do a weaker, pinty version similar to that in the pubs back in Glos? PS congrats on bringing quality cider to Oz... my girlfriend finally gets it now!

*** From Mathew Smith. Black Fox: Interesting. Feels sweet in the mouth yet leaves a sharpness on the tip of the tongue - didn't know it was possible to do a sweet'n'sour!

Not as favoured as the Gravenstein (had the penultimate bottle tonight with our dinner), but pleasant. Will probably get some of this as a food wine.

*** From: Alison Weathers. My brother-in-law visited SA recently and brought us back some Billy B's (both golden and dark). It was GORGEOUS, especially the dark - who'd have thought that apple stout would *work* much less taste so good?! Having lived in Devon for many years long ago, I'm something of a cider and scrumpy snob and was - up to now - disappointed in Aussie ciders. I'm delighted to note that you have Melbourne sellers. We'll definitely be buying more Thorogoods apple bevvies! -- Cheers, Ali

*** From M Smith. We made a dry apple wine from Gravenstein and Bramley apples and Matthew Smith wrote:

Gravenstein: Bloody marvellous, and I think that I speak for the both of us.

Bit of a cheek making it sound like a varietal when it's actually a blend, but this really is a cracking, aromatic drop which makes an excellent table wine. (I'd not want to drink it without food because it's probably just a bit TOO quaffable.)

Sorry - got the idea that one of you (at least) can read German; if not, traduction Anglaise:

O Gravenstein, O Gravenstein,

I like to drink good apple wine!

It tastes so good, it tastes so nice,

The weather now is overcast,

O Graventstein, O Gravenstein,

I like to drink good apple wine!
