A Cider World Tour.
- In October and November of this year [2007] I flew, trained, bussed, drove and walked my way around the world with the sole objective of drinking alcohol! But there was a little more to it than that. I visited the main cider regions of the world each with their own unique ciders, Somerset and Hereford in England, Brittany and Normandy in France, Asturias and the Basque region of Northern Spain, Old Sachsenhausen in Germany and finally New England in the U.S.A.. Better Than an Apple a Day
- "Better than an apple a day" - Sun Herald August 28 2006. A glass of cider may be better than an apple a day at keeping the doctor away. Researchers believe chemicals in English cider apples can protect against stroke, heart disease and cancer. They now plan to test the theory on 12 willing volunteers, who will each down a pint of cider. The scientists will check samples of their blood and urine to see if drinking scrumpy passes the disease-fighting antioxidants into the body. GOLD MEDAL FOR BILLY B'S
- Gold Medal For Billy B's Apple Beer! In a recent competition involving 48,000 brewers from around the world "RateBeer Best Winter 2006" voted Thorogoods of Burra's Billy B's Golden Malted Apple Beer a Gold Medal ranking 5th best beer in Australia, it was also voted 5th Best Fruit Beer in the World and the rest of the world voted Billy B's as the 2nd best Australian beer, pretty awesome stuff! Perfect Climate

Unicorn Brewery
- There has been three Breweries in Burra including the famous Unicorn Brewery 1873 to 1902. However Burras first brewery was on the site of the present hospital and it was part of an inn called the Burra Burra which was openened in 1846, and closed in 1876 and turned into a hospital. The latest Beer to be actually brewed in Burra is created on premises up behind the hospital and it is Thorogood world famous apple beer. Billy B's Golden has atracted international attention and an international gold medal. It is Australias most distinctive and interesting brew.
